Smith Selected For Phi Beta Kappa

On May 12th, 2024 Wellington High School alum Abbigail Elise Smith was initiated into the University of Kansas Alpha chapter of Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. Founded in 1176, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest national academic honorary society. Dietrich Earnhart, president of KU’s Phi Beta Kappa chapter and professor of economics, presided at the ceremony as each student was individually recognized and presented with a certificate of membership to this highly selective honor society. Each new initiate was invited to sign their names in the chapter register — a tradition that dates back to 1912.

Ask Garrison

Question: Can you suggest some ideas for remodeling our home to create a family or bonus room so we can maximize family activities together? GH: If you’re looking to create more space in your home, there are ways to do so without having to spend a great deal of money or time. By transforming an existing space, such as a garage, basement, or attic, you can easily create a new room that is both functional and comfortable.
