The 18th Annual Walleye/ Wiper Tournament at Wellington Lake is scheduled for Saturday, May 11th, running from 7am to 2pm. The tournament will be team-based, with each team comprising two members, one of whom must be at least 18 years old.
Moviegoers at last Sunday’s matinee at the Regent Theatre were greeted with furry handshakes and wagging tails as a couple of very special dogs from the Wellington Humane Society visited with guests
Sadie is a spunky little girl ready for a home to rule! She is the first to greet you when you enter her cat colony and loves attention. She enjoys watching the lobby like it is a television channel and will even try to play with dogs through the glass as they walk by.
The Wellington track team had a big day in Wichita at the WSU Pre-State track meet last Friday. The Crusaders had a multitude of top finishes throughout the day.
Brett Wetta of Collegiate popped up to Giefer, who couldn’t haul it in. Wetta scored on a wild pitch to get the Spartans on the board, still trailing 2-1 after one.
Wellington’s local healthcare providers invited us to share a letter that they, and numerous other rural healthcare providers submitted to our state’s governing body. The letter encourages Kansas Senators and members of the House of Representatives to support Medicaid expansion.
On April 10th at 22:32, the Wellington Fire Department received a 911 call for a structure fire at 646 E 40th Ave in Wellington, KS. A short-staffed crew of three firefighters responded promptly in Engine 2.
Tonight, the Wellington Public Library will host a special presentation, entitled “The Women of Brown''. The program begins at 6:30pm in the library’s community room and everyone is welcome.
