The Wellington Carnegie Public Library provided the perfect backdrop for the community to gather and witness the solar eclipse together. For weeks, the library staff had meticulously planned for the event, and their vision came to fruition in spectacular fashion.

WHS Softball Wins Triangular

The Wellington softball team picked up their first two wins of the season last week as they defeated Ark City and Buhler. “The girls played great,” said head coach Hannah Lawlis.

Owners of the Diamond Spring Event Venue recently hosted a free open house to showcase the venue’s impressive amenities and services. Stepping into the 8,000 square foot building, one is immediately struck by the spaciousness, soft lighting, and meticulous finishing touches.

The City

The City of Wellington’s Electric Distribution Department has started replacing the lower lights downtown with LEDs. Each light pole will be rewired and retrofitted for the new fixture.

Baseball Competes In Adam Laroche Invitational

After splitting a double- header against Augusta earlier in the week, the Wellington baseball team went 0-3 in the Adam Laroche Invitational last Friday and Saturday. The three losses continued a four game losing streak to fall to 3-7 on the season.
