Stewarts Open new Airbnb

In the early 1980’s, Brenda Beach Stewart took a spiritual gifts test and discovered she had the Gift of Hospitality. Often defined as the ability to warmly welcome and care for others, particularly strangers, guests, or people in need, this gift has now led Stewart and her husband Rick to open a new Airbnb called the “Wellington Loft”.

A Night of Laughter, Giving, and Community Spirit

Last Saturday, nearly 200 guests gathered at Memorial Auditorium for the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Ladies Night Out event. Attendees were treated to delicious food prepared by Fabiola’s Mexican Restaurant, a variety of beverages, ample shopping opportunities, exciting raffles, and an entertaining comedy act.

Public Tornado Shelter

With storm season upon us, the City confirms that the Wellington Health and Rehabilitation building, located at 1600 West 8th Street, will remain open 24/7 as a temporary tornado or storm shelter for residents in need.

The City of Wellington’s Electric Distribution Department has started replacing the lower lights downtown with LEDs. Each light pole will be rewired and retrofitted for the new fixture.

Baseball Competes In Adam Laroche Invitational

After splitting a double- header against Augusta earlier in the week, the Wellington baseball team went 0-3 in the Adam Laroche Invitational last Friday and Saturday. The three losses continued a four game losing streak to fall to 3-7 on the season.

On Saturday, April 20th, prepare to journey back to the golden era of Beatlemania as members of “Britain’s Finest: The Complete Beatles Experience” arrive in Wellington to revive the timeless hits of John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

It was a busy day at the airport! Parked on the far left is a Beechcraft King Air 200 also known as the Super King Air that flew in to pick up a medical transport. This civil utility aircraft is a twin-engine aircraft, which means that it has two propellers and two engines. The airplane has a maximum range of 1580 miles and a maximum speed of 310 mph. In the middle, is a Cessna Citation Sovereign that came in for a day trip. This American midsize business jet can climb to 43,000 feet in just 30 minutes and can fly 2,840 nautical miles.
