Memorial To Honor Father Emil J. Kapaun

Governor Laura Kelly has signed Senate Bill 431, directing the Capitol Preservation Committee to create a memorial honoring Chaplain (Captain) Emil Joseph Kapaun, a Korean War Medal of Honor recipient and Pilsen, KS native.

WHS Returns Two For Tennis

The Wellington boy’s tennis team is excited to get back on the court for the 2024 season. The Dukes return two players for the upcoming campaign, sophomore Maverick Peterson and senior Hunter Worley.

Pet of the Week

Mo is a small mix dog weighing 25 pounds. He’s a 5-6 years old happy little guy who loves to give kisses! He would make a wonderful companion for someone needing an adorable and sweet guy to talk to. He enjoys walks, playtime, and of course cuddle time! Stop in this week to meet this special dog! We are open Wednesday through Friday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. WHS Baseball Opens 2024 Season

The Wellington baseball team opened their 2024 campaign on Monday, March 18th, with a scrimmage against Clearwater and Campus. The WHS bats showed up, pitchers threw a couple of innings and coaches worked on various base running situations.

AAR Completes Purchase of Local Triumph Facility

On March 1st, AAR, a global aerospace and defense aftermarket solutions company headquartered in the Chicago area announced it had completed its acquisition of Triumph Group’s Product Support business which includes their facilities here in Wellington.
