Put on your best walking shoes and tie those laces! Registration is open for the Walk Kansas program conducted through the Sumner County K-State Extension Office. Physical health, nutrition and hydration are all key elements bringing Kansans together during this 8-week program.
The Wellington Compost Site is now open and available for the disposal of brush, straw, weeds, plants, grass, leaves, sticks, tree limbs, stumps, and bamboo. There is no charge to residents for the disposal of yard waste.
Advance voting for the Kansas Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) is now open. Both in-person and by mail options are available until noon on Monday, March 18th.

The Wellington Lady Crusader basketball squad cruised over Ulysses in the first round of the playoffs for their 20th win of the season. In the first three minutes, it was clear that the Lady Crusaders were the better team as they did what they do and played fast.
Recently, Wellington has been under the media spotlight for all the wrong reasons. However, interview a few key individuals and you’ll find a common theme: every person involved has the community’s best interests at heart.
For just the third time in WHS school history a Lady Crusader has brought home the Championship from the Kansas State High School Activities Association 4-1A State Wrestling Championships. Senior Aubrey Hunt, who finished last year as the State runner-up, started the tournament by defeating Caydence Carter of Plainville.
