A Tree-rific Christmas

December is a busy month at the National Depression Glass Association Museum (NDGA) as they host their Tree-rific Christmas! Museum volunteers have decorated trees of all sizes and the public is encouraged to stop in and vote for their favorite. The winning decorator will receive a fabulous piece of glass! While you are in, check out the “Guess It”contest.

Bells & Bagpipes

As they have done for more than 40 years, the “Bellaires” bell choir performed their Christmas concert last Sunday. The free concert opened with a Prelude on piano played by Megan Cook.

Bipartisan Bill Aimed at Helping Veterans

U.S. Representatives Sharice Davids of eastern Kansas and Mark Alford of western Missouri secured U.S. House approval of legislation designed to make it easier for veterans to use federal resources to start a business after completing military service.

Plans are underway for the launch of the Wind Energy Technology program on the Sumner Campus this spring. The instructor, James Wood, has extensive industry experience and is excited about building a destination program here in South Central Kansas.

As the population of drivers aged 65 and older continues to grow, maintaining safe mobility is important. This week is Older Driver Safety Awareness Week, which encourages seniors and their families to assess age-related changes and how best to remain safe on the road or choose other kinds of transportation.
