A Kids Market

Homemade wares, jelly, jams, cookies, friendship bracelets and more were available at the Wellington Public Library’s Kids Market last Saturday in the Community Room. Booths were manned by local youth as they sold handcrafted items of all kinds.

Sipping, Shopping & Small Business

Downtown was bustling with shoppers last Saturday morning as a number of retailers hosted a “Holiday Sip & Shop” with special prices, treats and holiday cheer. “We had a really good day,” said Ty Sober, owner of The Gold Corner jewelry store.

Coca-Cola Christmas

Over the weekend, Jamie and Daniel YoNash put the final touches on a festive Coca-Cola Christmas display in the windows of 118 South Washington. Coca-Cola began running Christmas themed ads that included Santa Claus in the 1920’s.

Compost Site Winter Season Hours

The City of Wellington Compost Site will be open regular hours through and including Saturday, November 25th, except for Thursday, November 23rd in observance of Thanksgiving. Regular business hours are Monday noon to 6:00pm, Wednesday 8:00am to 1:00pm, Thursday noon to 6:00pm and Saturday 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Wellington KOA Wins Awards For Excellence

For the second consecutive year, Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA), has announced that the Wellington KOA Holiday Campground has earned the prestigious KOA President’s Award for the 2024 season. The President’s Award along with the KOA Founder’s Award were both presented on November 16th at the Annual International Convention in Las Vegas, NV.

On Monday at 9:30am, the Board of Canvassers gathered in the Sumner County Courthouse and certified the final results of the November 7th, 2023 election. The complete results for Sumner County are as follows: Argonia The city of Argonia has a total of 597 registered voters and 58 of them cast their vote in the recent election for a voter turnout of 9.72%.
