Courthouse Goes Green for Veterans Day

For the third consecutive year, the Sumner County Courthouse is glowing green as part of Operation Green Light, a national Veterans Day celebration. This initiative, led by the National Association of Counties (NACo), the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers (NACVSO), and the Kansas Association of Counties, invites communities to honor veterans by illuminating their buildings in green from November 4 to November 11.

Task Force To Present Recommendations On Screen Time

Earlier this year, the Kansas State Board of Education established the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Student Screen Time to provide districts with guidance and recommendations on student device use in schools, screen time and mental health, and parental oversight of district-owned devices. The 36-member task force includes representatives from various sectors—Kansas BOE members, superintendents, principals, teachers, students, parents, IT staff, local school board members, and legislators.
