Botkin Wins Friendly Baseball Rivalry

The baseball team from Botkin Care and Rehab came out on top in this year’s annual game against Wellington Health and Rehab. The event, driven by a shared love of baseball and camaraderie, brought both teams together for an afternoon of friendly competition.

Buzz From the Beehive

The Saint Anthony/Saint Rose Catholic Church and the Beehive Quilt Shop will be hosting their 3rd annual Quilt Bingo event Sunday, September 29th, 1 - 4pm at Memorial Auditorium. This year, proceeds will be donated to the Knights of Columbus Building Fund.

Pet of the Week

Baxter is a large mixed breed with an adorable face and a big fluy tail! He's around 4 years old and weighs 57 pounds. He enjoys yard time and play - ing with toys or his people. He's also a cuddler and would love to spend some quality time with a loving family of his own! Stop in this week to meet Baxter! We are open Wednesday through Friday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. If you are inter ested in adoption, please complete the online application before you come in to speed up the adoption process. The Border Wars

The Sumner County Historical & Genealogical Society in Wellington, Kansas will host “The Border Wars: Conflict in Kansas and Missouri During the Civil War”, a presentation by Ken Spurgeon on Monday, September 16th at 6:30pm in the Short General Education Center at Cowley College. The program is free and open to the public.

County Commissioners Regular Session:

August 26, 2024 The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session in the Commission room of the Sumner County Courthouse. Those present were Chairman John Cooney, Commissioner Jim Newell and Commissioner Steve Warner.

Steven Ray Dick, known affectionately to all as Steve, passed away on September 6, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas just a few days after his 77th birthday. Born in Winfield, Kansas on August 31, 1947, Steve lived a life filled with a love of music, machines, and most importantly, family.
