Pet of the Week

We have a very unique cat for you this week. Meet Squidy! He is what we call a “burrito cat”. Most cats like to lay around the house on the back of couch- es or the floor. Squidy prefers to be wrapped up in a blanket like a burrito! He weighs in at 15 pounds, so he's an XL burrito cat. He's a very sweet and loving guy!

Lloyd Leads Blue Angels Escort in Wichita

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels arrived in Kansas last week for the Frontiers in Flight Air Show at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita. Local Wellington resident and WHS alum Michael Lloyd played an important role in this high-flying event.

Victory Bridge Preview

As the Wellington High School Crusader football team gears up for the 2024-2025 season, the annual tradition of painting the Victory Bridge over Hargis Creek is in full swing. This year’s design, led by senior Greer Buchanan, honors the Crusaders’ previous State championship victories. Greer is joined in the effort by fellow students Goran Djurovic, Rogan Wetta, Taylor Earl, Brylee Johnson, Axl Norris, and Cayson Ramirez. The freshly painted bridge will be ready for its first crossing prior to the home game against Andale on Friday, September 13th.

Wellington Tennis Tradition Continues

The Wellington girls tennis team looks to continue a strong tradition this fall as the Lady Dukes return four of their top six players from last year. Wellington has been to the Kansas State Tennis Tournament for 20 straight years. They have Top 10 finishes in 16 of those 20 years, including a 6th Place finish a year ago.
