Sullivan Parkey

Sullivan Parkey, is a senior at Wellington High School and in her first year as a lifeguard at the Wellington Family Aquatic Center. She decided to become a lifeguard because her sister “bribed” her. Her favorite part is “watching people make fun memories”. What has she learned from the experience? “Working at the WFAC has taught me how to be more responsible.”

Get Roped In!

We were fortunate to have Jackie Glasgow come to the Brother Beehive Classroom and teach “The Confetti Trivet” class. This was an easy project with so much creative potential! The key is to start with a tight coil as you master the technique of wrapping the fabric strips around the rope.

Heroes In The Show Ring

The Herding Heroes program at the Sumner County Fair pairs special needs individuals with 4-H or FFA members, giving them the unique experience of showing an animal in the fair ring. Each participant receives a customized event t-shirt, a blue ribbon, and a coupon for a snow cone to help cool down afterward.

Sumner County Fair Fun Facts & Results

The 97th Sumner County Fair was filled with exhibits, activities, shows, and music as members of the county shared their talents. Local 4-H and FFA members exhibited their livestock, flowers, crafts, vegetables, artwork, photography and much more.
