The Kansas Wheat Festival is in full swing, with our local streets brimming with carnival rides, unique contests, and exhibits that honor our community’s deep connection to agriculture. On Friday night, the parade will travel down Washington Avenue, continuing a tradition that has lasted for over a century.
Heat Holds Youth Camp
Members of the Kansas Collegiate League Baseball Wellington Heat team hosted a youth mini camp last week, in collaboration with the Wellington Recreation Commission and the Wellington Baseball Association.

Improvements Coming To Key Intersections
New traffic signals will soon be installed at two key intersections thanks to an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) recently awarded to the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) and the City of Wellington by the Department of Energy (DOE).

Izzy Shimer, a junior at WHS, is in her first year as a lifeguard at the Wellington Family Aquatic Center. Her favorite part of the job is being able to help people and working with friends.
