City of Wellington Firework Information

As the celebration of Indepence Day approaches on July 4th, for the health and safety of the community, fireworks cannot be discharged in city streets, at the Wellington Lake or in any city parks. By city ordinance, discharge hours for fireworks are: July 1st - July 3rd, 10am to 11pm July 4th, 10am to midnight Retail sale hours are: 10am to 10pm, July 1st - July 4th Bottle rockets and M80s are illegal in Kansas.

Bi-Weekly Community Coffee

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office hosts “Coffee and Conversation”every other Wednesday morning at 9am. Local residents can meet and chat with a sheriff ’s deputy, detective, or other members of the command staff in a relaxed setting.

Cookie Auction Supports 4-H

Overwatch Heroes At Nationals

For the first time in WHS history, a local Esports team has competed at the Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF) High School National Championship held in Orlando, FL. Accompanied by Coach Todd Larkey, WHS Overwatch gamers Emma Gouch (Regal-Raccoon), Hagen Bryant (CrimsonFire), Draisyn Lea (CaptSlain), Hunter Worley (Darkender), Jaxon Highbarger(The1Eyed) and Jacob Dry (QuartzDrake) competed against other nationally ranked Overwatch teams from across the country.
