Cookie Auction Supports 4-H

The Wellington Fire/EMS Department provides both fire services and emergency medical services. The Department consists of the Fire/EMS Chief, shift personnel and an Administrative/ EMS Clerk.

Lifeguard Of The Week: Taylor Earl

Taylor Earl, a senior at WHS, is starting her first year as a lifeguard at the Wellington Family Aquatic Center. She was invited to try lifeguarding and she’s glad she did. Her favorite part of the job so far is “building friendships and creating bonds with others.”

When Duty Calls

On August 16, 2023, at around 6am, a large storm passed through Sumner County, resulting in numerous calls, power outages, and loss of radio communication. Watch Supervisor Stefny Cabrera and Telecommunicator Callie Ybarra were on duty as the storm began.

Hoyt Named To Dean’s List

Barton Community College has announced that Robin Hoyt from Wellington has been named to their Dean’s List for the Spring 2024 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Pet of the Week

Valentina came to us with her tiny adorable kittens! She was a wonderful mother and most of her kittens have now been adopted. She is barely an adult herself at just over a year old. Valentina has a wonderful personality, is soft and sweet and ready to meet you! Stop in this week to meet Valentina! We are open Wednesday through Friday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. If you are interested in adoption, please complete the online application before you come in to speed up the adoption process. We go in order of application received, so the sooner you get in your application, the better! Valentina’s adoption fee is $10 o cats during her special week!
