During the recent Cowley County Board of Trustees meeting held in Wellington, Zach Cooper, Director of the Sumner Campus, presented a proposal to utilize undeveloped land on the campus. His plan for developing honey bee hives and pollinator research was unanimously approved by the Trustees.

For about ten years, the Wheat Capital Quilt Society has hosted a beautifully curated quilt show in conjunction with the Kansas Wheat Festival. This year, there were 125 entries and the Show was held in the Wellington Middle School Auxiliary Gym.
