The Farm Comes to Homestead

Despite last Thursday’s rain, the residents at Homestead remained enthusiastic as they warmly welcomed a few furry friends from Peachy Farms to their community. Several therapy animals, including an alpaca, mini-horse, and a couple of goats, enjoyed an abundance of love and attention from the residents.

MKC Hosts Poultry Swap

Recently ,the community gathered at Mid Kansas Cooperative) MKC (eager to exchange not only information but chickens and ducks .The event attracted several vendors as well as locals that raise backyard chickens .It‘s the first of many that MKS‘s Feed Sales Marketer for South/ Central Kansas ,Barbie Johnson plans to host in Wellington.

A few days ago, we had a Cessna L-19 Bird Dog at the airport. These airplanes were used by the U.S. Air Force, Army and Marine Corps for artillery spotting, front-line communications, medical evac and pilot training.
