The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has given the green light to a significant project aimed at improving U.S. Highway 160. The approved bid will facilitate the mill and overlay of the highway stretching from the Sumner County to Harper County lines, reaching the western boundary of Wellington.

JUNE 7, 2023 In the early 1900’s, the Wellington Ice Plant and Cold Storage business on South G Street helped local residents stay cool by producing 30 tons of ice every day. The problem? Ice melts, so homes and businesses during that era needed a new block of ice delivered to them each day to keep things cool.
