For the third consecutive summer, Wellington’s Independence Day fireworks show brought friends, families, and neighbors together at the Hargis Creek Watershed, transforming the landscape into a glowing backdrop of celebration on the evening of July 4th. Local origami artist Lenny Scheufler led a fun and creative paper-folding class at the Wellington Public Library last week. Although the class was cut short due to the threat of severe weather, most students had time to complete their folded paper box projects.
Attendance was up this year at the Wellington Humane Society’s sixth annual Run For The Paws 5K and 1-mile race. A total of 77 runners registered for the event, with 65 participants crossing the finish line.
