Last Friday and Saturday a special pop star came to Kansas City, sweeping men and women, young and old, off their feet. The notable Taylor Swift made her appearance at Arrowhead Stadium performing 2 sold out shows of her popular “Eras Tour” with a few surprises up her sleeve.
The Wellington 4th of July public fireworks display was discharged on the east end of the dam this year at Hargis Watershed. The new location was ideal and residents were excited about the show.

For the second year in a row,The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce/ CVB is partnering with Visit Winfield and Visit Ark City, to host the SuCo Boutique Crawl that features a printed passport that takes shoppers on bi-county shopping adventure.
It’s been a whole year since we put our bold and bright Beehive Quilt Shop billboard on the northbound route of the I-35 Turnpike. Since that time, we have met a lot of highway travelers headed north from Dallas or Oklahoma City to Kansas City or beyond.
To top off a week filled with Wheat Festival fun, the Wellington Regent Theater will be hosting an exceptional music event, featuring solo artist, Jaret Ray Reddick, former lead singer of Bowling for Soup. Other featured artists will include Thomas Ian Nicholas and Wellington’s own George Friesen.
The Stuffed Animal Program at the Wellington Public Library was the spot to be last Thursday evening. The popular event was back by demand and quickly sold out again! Kids enjoyed stuffing a variety of adorable creatures and took them home to keep.

Next week, across the country the United States will celebrate Independence Day with barbecues, parades, fireworks and businesses closed (including the Library). But, that is far from what the first Independence Day looked like.
