Buzz From the Beehive
On March 10th five years ago we opened our store at 122 North Washington Avenue in historic downtown Wellington. To celebrate this business milestone, we did some fun stuff; cookies, special sales, and prizes.

“Chenille It” was one of the first classes we taught at the shop and we were inspired to do it again by the Golden Tigers’ classes offered at Cowley College. Chenille is the French word for caterpillar and it is a type of yarn.

Wellington Citizens Lead City Wide Clean-Up Effort
Keeping the community clean and beautiful is not an easy task. Yet, all it takes to get people moving in the right direction is the single-minded determination of a couple of inspired citizens.



Sumner County 4-H Club Days
Sumner County 4-H Club Days were held last weekend at the Raymond Frye Complex. 4-H members presented in the following categories; Public Speaking, Project Talks, Demonstration and Illustrated Talks, Readings, and several others. Some members also exhibited their talent in music performances.

Modern Roof Protects Historic Building
Last week, the historic Santa Fe Building located at 500 South Washington acquired a significant upgrade with the addition of a new energy efficient roof. Sumner County owns the building, which primarily houses the County Appraiser and the Sumner County Roads and Bridge Department offices.

Several years ago, we were fortunate enough to have Dana Koehler join the Beehive Quilt Shop as an instructor. Dana had recently retired which gave her the opportunity to pursue an activity she really loved – sewing.
