This week, Barry Dicker, Project Leader and President of Decent Energy, Inc. is using a thermal imaging camera to document the temperature of the thermal-energy storage ceiling- tile installed in City Hall as part of the Sumner County’s “Building Technologies Proving Ground – Public Sector Field Validation” project that was awarded by the United States Department of Energy (DOE).

It’s been extra busy at the shop with lots of customers finishing up their handmade holiday gifts and shopping for unique or hard-to-find children’s toys. A couple of our recent classes have been perfect for last minute, personalized gift making.
Check out a few of the fun holiday gifts made at the Santa’s Elf Christmas Workshop! Two different craft sessions were held at the Library and makers left with a number of special gifts for friends and family. The Library staff organized the event, gathered all the crafting supplies and even provided snacks for the elves.
It’s wonderful to open the mail and find an unexpected gift! This happened recently at the Library. A donation from a Fidelity Charitable Donor- Advised Fund came in the mail.

Along with the holidays,poinsettias are in full bloom.We all have seen and enjoyed their vibrant colors during winter. Poinsettias (poyn·seh·tee·uhz) are a short day blooming plant, meaning that as the days get shorter, blooming is started by the plant. Nights must be longer than 12 hours for 10 weeks to trigger the plant to change color.
Finals week began on Monday at Cowley College and students will finish up their exams on Friday, December 9th. If you are interested in taking a class during the winter break, now’s the time to enroll! Classes for our winter online session begin on December 12th and end January 10, 2023.
