Local sharpshooter “Lil Dust Devil,” aka Lisa Supon, recently competed in the Land Run 2024 SASS National Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting, hosted by the Oklahoma City Gun Club in Arcadia, OK.

Kansas State University Salina recently selected Wellington alumna Heidi Gulick to serve as a student ambassador for the 2024-2025 academic year.

“It’s a great day to be a Patriot, because Lincoln ROCKS!” exclaim the tag team announcers at the start of this year’s new Patriot Podcast, produced and hosted by the 5th-grade reading intervention groups at Lincoln Elementary.

The Wellington Middle School’s semi-annual Market Day was held on October 15th and saw about two dozen student-owned businesses with booths set-up in the gymnasium.

Linda Fair was a talented local seamstress with an immense amount of school spirit. In 2008, she and her husband, Gary, began a meaningful tradition for the Wellington girls’ tennis team that continues to this day.

Locals in Wellington had another opportunity to capture the aurora borealis last week. The uniquely colorful light display was visible to the naked eye as well as through cameras and cell phones.

Homecoming weekend, Lady Crusaders from all four grade levels hit the Sellers Park field to compete in the annual Powder Puff football game.

A few young chemists joined in some fun experiments at the Library last week. I generally do some sort of STEAM activity the first Tuesday of every month and this month I chose chemistry.
