2024 -2025 Duck Hunting Meeting
The annual duck hunting meeting and duck blind drawing will take place at the Wellington Lake Shop on Tuesday, October 1st, at 6:30 PM. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory for all current duck blind holders and those wishing to be selected in the drawing.

Sumner County Health Department’s successful Baby Shower moved into Memorial Stadium this year to accommodate more vendors, training classes and displays. “This event was organized for new and expectant parents, grandparents, and family members.

Haines Honored at OSU
Wellington High School alumna Kate Haines was recently honored by the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture with an academic scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. Haines, who is studying Animal Science, is the recipient of the Ben & Alma Grant Scholarship.

New Welding Booths Enhance Safety and Skills at WHS
For the past several years, WHS staff have been diligently updating the high school’s shop facilities. A major achievement this year was the installation of new welding work areas for students.

Last Thursday’s Chamber Coffee featured representatives from the Sumner County Health Department and Sumner County Home Health Agency. They provided information about the wide variety of services they offer, which goes well beyond immunizations.

Library Card Sign-Up Month
With September starting, so does Library Card Sign-Up Month! This campaign began in 1987 when the Secretary of Education stated, “Every child should obtain a library card and use it.” The American Library Association (ALA) replied via telegram saying, “We accept your challenge.”, and Library Card Sign-up month was born.
