Last Thursday’s Chamber Coffee featured representatives from the Sumner County Health Department and Sumner County Home Health Agency. They provided information about the wide variety of services they offer, which goes well beyond immunizations.

Friday Fun Day!

Washington Elementary School kicked off the school year in style with their 3rd Annual Friday Fun Day! Students took on the heat with a splash, enjoying water games, challenges, and all sorts of cool-down activities. The highlight? Wellington Fire/EMS Captain Javan Wright perched high on Engine #3, joining the fun as students eagerly gathered under the refreshing spray.

Heroes In The Show Ring

The Herding Heroes program at the Sumner County Fair pairs special needs individuals with 4-H or FFA members, giving them the unique experience of showing an animal in the fair ring. Each participant receives a customized event t-shirt, a blue ribbon, and a coupon for a snow cone to help cool down afterward.

Splash Bash

The Wellington Family Aquatic Center welcomed all incoming 6th graders through outgoing 8th graders to their annual Middle School Splash Bash last Sunday night. Admission included a slice of pizza and kids took full advantage of the Center’s 154-foot open air slide, high and low diving boards, mushroom waterfall, tumble buckets and a lily pad area.

Kids Navigate Trendy Tech Camp

About forty young tech enthusiasts enjoyed the hospitality and engaging activities at the 2024 Tech Camp, held in the Upstairs Downtown event space in Caldwell. Co-hosted by KanOkla and Cowley Community College, the exciting camp brought together Sumner County students in grades 5 through 9.
