Hamilton Named Tri-State Outstanding Soloist
Talented local musician Kaleb Hamilton recently competed in the 91st Annual Tri-State Music Festival in Enid, OK, where he was subsequently presented with the Outstanding Soloist Award. Hamilton earned a I Rating for his piano performance of “Prelude in C-sharp minor” by Sergei Rachmaninoff, a requirement for consideration for the award.


Hunt Seizes Opportunity At BPA Nationals
Wellington High School junior Rome Hunt recently participated in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference held in Chicago, IL. The theme for this year’s program was “Seize The Opportunity,” and Hunt fully embraced that message.

Congratulations to Christian Buckman of Wellington on receiving his degree from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln during the recent commencement exercises. Buckman earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of Business.

Chelsi Adams Named Teacher of the Year: 2023-24
During last Friday’s USD 353 Employee Appreciation Program, Chelsi Adams, a 3rdgrade teacher at Kennedy Elementary, was honored with the USD 353 School Foundation’s prestigious “Excellence in Teaching Award”. With seven years of dedicated service to the Wellington School District, Adams has demonstrated exceptional commitment to her students’ education.

Crusader Singers
On Monday, the Crusader Singers returned to Royals Stadium for the 3rd consecutive year to perform the National Anthem prior to the Royal’s start against the Detroit Tigers. “Performing in front of this large crowd and in this venue is a big honor,” said Choir Director Jennifer Ault.

Bringing History To Life At Ike
Recently, the commons area of Eisenhower Elementary buzzed with excitement as 28 famous and historical figures came to life as part of the 4th graders’ “Living Museum” project. Among the diverse lineup were sports stars, renowned musicians, past presidents, inventors, and other notable personalities, all sharing their life stories with fellow students, friends, and family members.
