The Wellington Noon Lions Club recently honored 12 exceptional WHS juniors during a special assembly at the high school. These students were nominated and selected by their teachers for their exemplary character traits, including strong character, loyalty, friendship, and respect for fellow students, teachers, and staff.
Last Saturday, the WHS Forensic Speech Team journeyed to Clearwater to participate in the KSHSAA Regional Speech & Drama Festival. At the Festival, Kaylee Horinek, Bailey Elkins, and RaeLynn Thornton each garnered a I Rating, while Rome Hunt achieved two I Ratings, securing their spots in the upcoming 2024 State Speech & Drama Festival in Topeka on May 4th, 2024.
The Wellington High School annual Service Day took place last Thursday, with upperclassmen and WHS staff volunteering their time to assist various local organizations during the morning. Organized by Karla Defore, the event aims to foster connections between students and the community through positive actions and activities.

The sixth grade students and staff at the Wellington Middle School celebrated the solar eclipse on April 8th with moon pies and “orbit” races while observing the eclipse through their solar viewing glasses As the sky darkened and shadows fell on the WMS track, students gathered in groups with their friends to witness the spectacle.
