WHS Class of 2023 Cross The Stage

The WHS 2023 graduating class comprised of 105 seniors entered the next chapter of their lives last Sunday, May 21st as they crossed the stage and received their diplomas at historic Sellers Park. WHS Principal John Nance welcomed the 2023 Class as well as the stadium filled with guests.

Free Flight In Memorial

Students from across the country gathered in Wellington last Friday to practice flying aircraft in Memorial Auditorium. They were preparing to compete in the “Flight” event category of the 39th Annual Science Olympiad National Tournament being hosted at Wichita State University the following day. The nearly 30 foot high ceilings in Memorial provided the ideal environment for the two-member teams to test their free flight rubber-powered aircraft. Free flight model airplanes are designed, built, and trimmed to fly without user intervention once they are launched.
