The 2023 Sumner County Leadership Initiative (SCLI) classes which began last October 2022, culminated with a private graduation ceremony held on May 10th at the Caldwell Workspace. Eight individuals from diverse backgrounds and professions came together from across Sumner County with a common goal; share ideas on how to make positive change in the county and their communities.

The WHS 2023 graduating class comprised of 105 seniors entered the next chapter of their lives last Sunday, May 21st as they crossed the stage and received their diplomas at historic Sellers Park. WHS Principal John Nance welcomed the 2023 Class as well as the stadium filled with guests.
If you were living in Wellington in November of 2008, you may recall the famous moving house. That fun fact, as well as the age of the home, attracted the attention of the popular Instagram page “Circa Old Houses” which features pictures of the most beautiful historic homes on the market.
Students from across the country gathered in Wellington last Friday to practice flying aircraft in Memorial Auditorium. They were preparing to compete in the “Flight” event category of the 39th Annual Science Olympiad National Tournament being hosted at Wichita State University the following day. The nearly 30 foot high ceilings in Memorial provided the ideal environment for the two-member teams to test their free flight rubber-powered aircraft. Free flight model airplanes are designed, built, and trimmed to fly without user intervention once they are launched.
