Although the first Star Wars movie was released 10 years before he was born, Brian Miller has been a fan since acquiring his first Star Wars toys at age six. To put it mildly, those toys sparked an interest that has grown into what some would characterize as a bit of an obsession.

Gill Performs At State Music Festival

WHS student musician Abbey Gill competed in the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) State Music Festival 2023 at Andover Central High School in Andover, KS on April 29th. She performed a clarinet solo of “Blues”, from the jazz-influenced orchestral piece “An American in Paris” arranged for clarinet and piano by Michele Mangani and written by American composer George Gershwin.

A Bowling Benefit

The 9th Annual Nancy Day Scholarship Benefit will be held this Saturday, May 6th, 1 – 3pm at Meadow Lanes in Wellington. Join us for a fun afternoon of bowling and remembrance while enjoying one of Nancy’s favorite sports activities. The fee to bowl is $6 per person and includes shoe rental. All donations benefit a scholarship provided to a WHS senior. Donations to the scholarship fund can also be mailed to: Terry Lawrence, 1429 North Seneca Road, Peck, KS, 67120.

Spring Tea & Live Fashion Show

The Saint Anthony Saint Rose Altar Society hosted a Spring Tea in the Parish Hall last Sunday afternoon for more than 70 ladies between the ages of 2 – 93. The tables were beautifully decorated with fine china brought in by volunteers and delicious treats made by Linda Metzen and Sue Caudillo.
