The community celebrated with Aahn’s Place last Saturday at a free event that included a petting zoo, inflatables, face painting and more. Hundreds of kids and their families joined in on the fun as Aahn’s Place hosted the event to thank the community for supporting them these past five years.
The Young Eagles Flights program is offering free flights for kids ages 8 17 at the Wellington Municipal Airport during the Chisholm Trail EAA 1631 Young Eagles Rally on Saturday, May 13th, 2023 from 8:30am – 12:30pm, weather permitting.
Over 150 students formed 29 teams and came from 14 schools to throw down at Cowley College’s Robotics Challenge 2023 last Thursday and Friday. The young tech geniuses competed in Beginner and Advanced Challenges over the 2 day event held on the Sumner Campus.

WHS Business Professionals of America students just returned from the 2023 BPA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA held April 26–30. The conference brought together about six thousand delegates from across the country competing for top honors in business and information technology skills competitions.
WHS student musician Abbey Gill competed in the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) State Music Festival 2023 at Andover Central High School in Andover, KS on April 29th. She performed a clarinet solo of “Blues”, from the jazz-influenced orchestral piece “An American in Paris” arranged for clarinet and piano by Michele Mangani and written by American composer George Gershwin.
