Wellington Middle School Hosts Science Fair and Open House

e Wellington Middle School gym was abuzz with curiosity and creativity during the recent Science Fair and Open House, which drew nearly 200 guests eager to encourage and support young scientists. e fair featured around 100 projects created by 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students, spanning 16 categories. A panel of 12 volunteer judges evaluated the entries, with the top projects earning the opportunity to compete at the Regional Science Fair at Exploration Place on February 21st.

Recently, students and faculty at Wellington High School heard the powerful story of Coach Mark Potter and his wife, Nanette. As a head basketball coach for over 30 years, Potter's greatest victory wasn't on the court-it was overcoming severe depression.

Border Queen Harvest Hub Commercial Kitchen Coming To Caldwell

Construction will soon begin on a public-use commercial kitchen in the Caldwell Workspace thanks to a grant from K-State 105 given to the Sumner County Economic Development (SCED) as part of the Border Queen Harvest Hub (BQHH). e remodeling will be undertaken through a combination of volunteer opportunities and the use of local professional services.
