Sean Clift with the City of Wellington Street Department went the extra mile on Saturday helping City of Wellington Police temporarily remove a traffic sign so that a semi-trailer truck carrying a wind turbine blade could safely navigate a turn onto the viaduct
The BNSF Railroad crossings at “G”Street and Jefferson Ave closed beginning April 6th and will remain so for two to three weeks. During that time, Washington Avenue and “H”Street crossings will also be closed for track maintenance.
Last Thursday, the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a Business After Hours & Ribbon Cutting celebration to welcome KanOkla to the community. Jill Kuehny, KanOkla President, cut the ceremonial ribbon along with Chief Operating Officer David Nance and Erma Ratliff, Sales & Development Coordinator, numerous other staff members, city representatives and local business owners.

Last week, the Lincoln Elementary 5th Grade classes performed Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare, as adapted for children by Marilyn Nikimaa. All of the props, set backgrounds and costumes were made by the 5th Grade students.
The 2023 Spring Stand Up Rural America Regional Forum is currently taking place at the Kansas Star Event Center. Sumner County Economic Development Commission (SCEDC) partnered with a number of nationally recognized experts to share their diverse knowledge on rural leadership and revitalization.
We are excited to announce that the Third Annual Robotic Challenge will be conducted over two days this year on the Cowley College Sumner campus. The “Basic Challenge” events will be held on Thursday, April 27th from 9am – 3pm and the “Advanced Challenge” events are on Friday, April 28th from 9am – 3pm.
