It’s a long, thirteen hour drive to the University of Southern Alabama (USA) in Mobile, AL, but WHS senior Jaxson Irey-Hurt is ready to make the trip. Working part-time at Impact Bank through an internship with WHS, Irey-Hurt will graduate in May and leave Wellington to pursue a career in finance.
Seventeen miles of K-49 in Sumner County will be resurfaced as part of a $2.5 million project that begins April 5th. This highway project involves a mill (grinding and removing the top layer of asphalt) and a hot-mix-asphalt overlay.

Last Saturday, the community clean-up event organized by Erma Ratliff and Amber Sheppard ran like a well-oiled machine. Between 7:30 - 10:30am, more than 75 vehicles filled with over 10 tons of items for recycling or disposal drove to Sellers Park.
