Recently, Bill Meridith, the founder and President of Wellington Christian Academy, announced that due to inflationary costs the school would be closing at the end of the Spring 2023 term. Understandably, this was discouraging news for the school’s staff and the families with children who attend the school.

Celebrating The Sunflower State

Kansas’s birthday is just around the corner! We celebrate Kansas Day on January 29th to commemorate our state’s admission into the Union as the 34th state. Kansans near and far will be celebrating this rich history on Sunday “Kansas is the only state that I know of that celebrates its birthday the way we do,” said Lois Herr, Education Coordinator of the Kansas Historical Society “I’ve lived in several states. Coming here and raising my kids here, I became interested in the celebration. Everyone celebrates the day in their own way.”
