January BOE Meeting

The January BOE Meeting had a few new topics on the agenda, including a guest speaker on the football stadium remodel who has plenty of experience in the sport. Mike Wilmoth, retired Wellington history teacher and football referee, expressed his support of moving the stadium to the high school.

The white tablecloth social event is back at The Dore and it’s the perfect occasion to relax and enjoy a delicious 3-course meal coupled with 3 wine pairings. Hosted each Wednesday night in February, the gourmet dinners are by reservation only with seating available for 40-50 people.

LADY CRUSADERS STAY PERFECT IN BATTLE OF UNBEATENS The Lady Crusaders are 10-0 after beating Andale 44-34 in an AVCTL IV matchup. The Indians were undefeated before facing the Wellington girls last Friday night at home.

Matt’s Hanger

This week’s highpoint at the airport was a quick refueling visit from a Black Hawk Helicopter. The civilian version is technically called a “FireHawk,” or Sikorsky S-70 helicopter. This one was headed to Salt Lake to fight fires.

A Green Comet in Kansas

If the skies are clear, and the moon is not shining too brightly, the comet known as C/2022 E3 (ZTF) just might be glowing enough to be seen with the naked eye here in Wellington. Since we live in the northern hemisphere, our best chance of viewing this once-in-a-lifetime event will be between January 12th and February 1, 2023.
