Letters to Santa

Do you remember writing a letter to Santa? Newspapers began publishing requests made to Santa as a way for children to communicate with the big man as far back as the late 1800’s. Here at the Wellington Daily News we would welcome a return to that tradition.

Making Gingerbread Houses

Staff from the Wellington Public Library welcomed children of all ages to the community room to decorate graham cracker gingerbread houses. “We had about 50 kids and family members come to the gingerbread house workshop,” said Chalishia Alvarez, Children’s Librarian.

Monitoring Tile That Glows

This week, Barry Dicker, Project Leader and President of Decent Energy, Inc. is using a thermal imaging camera to document the temperature of the thermal-energy storage ceiling- tile installed in City Hall as part of the Sumner County’s “Building Technologies Proving Ground – Public Sector Field Validation” project that was awarded by the United States Department of Energy (DOE).

Candy Land Christmas Celebration

Family and friends ventured to downtown Wellington Saturday evening to watch the Christmas parade, pick-up some reindeer food, enjoy some hot cocoa, and mail their letters to Santa. Chamber of Commerce Head Elves, Valerie Earl and Becky Alexander, thought of everything as members of the Wellington Noon Lions Club brightened the event by lighting the Christmas tree and the Crusader Singers led the crowd in everyone’s favorite Christmas carols.
