Groucho came from a cat hoarding situation. He was very shy, but has blossomed into a very friendly guy! He is currently living in our cat colony with several other cats, including some from the same house. He is 3-4 years old and ready for his own family to show him how a cat should be treated and loved! Come in and meet this cute mustached boy! Park Board Special Meeting

On Monday, November 28th the Wellington Park Board held a special meeting to review the feedback received from the public meeting conducted on October 5th at Memorial Auditorium. Jeremy Jones, Director of the City of Wellington Public Works Department, opened the meeting by asking Park Board members to identify discussion items from the October 5th meeting had continued to be raised by local residents.

Candy Land Christmas This Saturday

The theme for this year’s Wellington Annual Christmas Celebration is “Candy Land Christmas”. The merriments begin at 5:00pm this Saturday, December 3rd in our historic downtown with a parade on Washington Avenue between 4th and 8th Streets. Mr. & Mrs. Claus will be making a special appearance in their sleigh.

Operation Holiday Update

Taking care of those in need takes place year round, but during the holidays a little extra love is required from the community. Last year, Operation Holiday helped over 95 families and they are on pace to assist just as many this season.

Compost Site Winter Season Hours

The Compost Site will be open regular hours through and including Saturday, November 26th, except for Thursday, November 24th in observance of Thanksgiving. Regular business hours are Monday noon to 6:00pm, Wednesday 8:00am to 1:00pm, Thursday noon to 6:00pm and Saturday 8:00am to 4:00pm.
