As most of you know, this year marks the 100th anniversary of Memorial Auditorium. In honor of Veteran’s Day, I’m including some history of the Auditorium as well as the Veterans for whom the building was originally constructed to memorialize; the brave young men of Sumner County who fought in the Great War, World War I.
Last Thursday, U.S. Senator Jerry Moran came to Wellington to tour the Pinnacle Aerospace facilities. The topic of discussion was how the company was taking the steps needed to foster growth and expansion.
Last weekend, the 31st annual Sumner County Toy Run joined forces with Operation Holiday to begin collecting Christmas gifts to distribute to Sumner County families in need. The Toy Run started in Belle Plaine and as Santa led 112 motorcycles into Wellington his helpers brought piles of toys to the American Legion.

Bacon Fat Tortillas: Ingredients: 3 c flour 1 ½ tsp salt 1/4 c bacon fat 1 tsp baking powder 1 c warm water These tortillas use bacon fat for that extra delicious flavor! A little butter and honey or a sprinkle of chicken bouillon and you have the perfect snack! Mix everything together by hand in a bowl or use a mixer with a dough hook to make it easier.

Every November, the Wellington Public Library celebrates National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). November is also designated as National Life Writing Month and Family Stories Month. Combine these concepts together and everyone has a story to tell.
Next Tuesday, November 8th, residents will have an opportunity to make their voices heard and opinions known through casting their vote. Polls in Sumner County are open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
