WHS and GKN Aerospace teamed up on an inspirational art project at the high school during National Suicide Prevention Week. Students from Karla Defore’s Leadership Class, board members from the Sumner County Community Drug Action Team (SCCDAT) and employees from GKN Aerospace combined their artistic talents to illustrate positive messages in vibrant colors on the campus sidewalks.
During the Wheat Festival this summer, you may have caught the Cowboy Action Shooters competition at the Trigger Guard Shooting Range just outside Wellington. Starting in September,you will have the opportunity to see cowboys compete every month as Trigger Guard begins their own Cowboy Action Match Club.
Kansas district courts in 34 counties, including Sumner, will transition to a new Kansas eCourt Case Management System (CCMS) on September 12th, 2022. Commonly referred to as “Odyssey”, the new upgrade will aid counties by elevating information sharing for the courts, improving daily processes and providing additional accessibility to services for the general public.

Fire hydrant testing will begin on Sunday September 11th and continue on weekdays until all of the hydrants have been tested. The schedule will be followed as closely as possible; however, at times changes may be necessary.
