Fire hydrant testing will begin on Sunday September 11th and continue on weekdays until all of the hydrants have been tested. The schedule will be followed as closely as possible; however, at times changes may be necessary.
Many people have asked about our fall Library Book Sale. We’ve heard you, and have scheduled the next sale during the Fall Festival, Friday, Sept 16th, 9:30am - 5pm and Saturday, Sept 17the, 9:30am - 4pm.
The Kansas Housing Resources Corporation hosted the 17th Annual Kansas Housing Conference this past week in Wichita. The event brought together housing professionals and city officials from across the state including representatives from Wellington.
Jason Newberry, Interim City Manager, and Barry Dicker, Project Leader and President of Decent Energy, Inc. provided Dr. Chuck Booten, Senior Engineer, Building Energy Sciences Mechanical and Thermal Systems Engineering with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) a tour of the buildings and thermal tile installation in Sumner County’s “Building Technologies Proving Ground – Public Sector Field Validation” project that was awarded by the United States Department of Energy (DOE).
By Jim Bales, Facilities Director, Chisholm Trail Museum The Museum board was approached about a year ago regarding the relocation of the cannons to the Museum, the Board did not take the request lightly and significant discussions were held. It is understood that the cannons are a significant part of Wellington’s history and need to be preserved and displayed.
