Most of the calls our office gets on how to control bagworms come in during late-July to early-August when the damage appears. But, bagworms are difficult to control when they are that large. They are much easier to kill while small.
Cowley College Sumner campus began as the vision of Stacy Davis, Sumner County Economic Development Director, Annarose White, former Wellington Chamber Director, and the Cowley College administration. This team spent hours talking to members of the community about their vision and how to make it a reality. It became reality when the sales tax dollars for building the campus was passed by Sumner County voters.
Two businesses downtown have recently finished major exterior remodeling projects. Both building renovation projects have made marked improvements on these distinctive structures and have improved the look of our downtown.
The Wellington Family Aquatic Center opened last week under the watchful eyes of the lifeguard staff. The Center employs between 25 – 30 lifeguards each summer and each one generally works between 20 – 40 hours per week.
The piano students of Hankie Holefelder played their annual recital for the community at the First United Methodist Church located in Wellington. The students playing in this year’s recital included; Ethan Brungardt, Kayden Clark, Kolton Clark, Breckin Earl, Layla Earl, Taylor Earl, Anna Ewing, Evie Ewing, Liam Ewing, Kaleb Hamilton, Jacob Heersche, Mailey Kelso, Elliana McNeil, Jennifer Newland, Sally Palmer and Meredith Renn.
Lucy is a 2-3 year old mixed breed. At first Lucy is shy, but the second she warms up to you she will be your best friend! Lucy loves to play and has a very goofy personality. Lucy’s past is unknown but she is ready to find her furever home. Come meet Lucy today!
