The Wellington Crusader football team unofficially kicked off their 2024 campaign with their annual “hamburger scrimmage.” Put on in collaboration with the Crusader Club, this year Wellington football players of all ages took a turn playing on the Sellers Park field and members of the Crusader Club served up grilled hamburgers for the crowd.

Love it or hate it, Wellington is home to an assortment of neighborhood cats, sometimes referred to as feral cats. The Wellington Humane Society has been working diligently to address the overpopulation issue by spaying and neutering these cats.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels arrived in Kansas last week for the Frontiers in Flight Air Show at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita. Local Wellington resident and WHS alum Michael Lloyd played an important role in this high-flying event.
Based on a tip received by local law enforcement, potential evidence related to the Janet Wikel case has recently been collected in Wellington. Lydia Albright moved into her stately home on Harvey Avenue more than 20 years ago. Before settling in Wellington, she traveled the country, working in Information Technology for the government, and sought adventure through mountain climbing and ice fishing.
