When acclaimed sports photographer Jeff Jacobsen heard about the Great Race, he and his wife Laura adjusted their travel plans to head to Wellington. Over his 55-year career, Jacobsen has captured nearly every major sports event, but he had never seen anything like The Slate Creek Relay.
When Drake Davidson made the nearly six hour trip from Mokane, MO to Wellington to play baseball for the Wellington Heat three summers ago, the last thing he expected to find was love. But, that’s just what happened when he met Wellington native, Jacelyn Buck.

In the July 11th issue of the Wellington Daily News, we reported that a large bone fragment was found in the same area where Janet’s partial remains were discovered. Since that update, there have been additional developments in the case.

As students prepare to head back to school, the Library celebrated the end of the Summer Reading Program with a special event. Participants of the “Adventure Begins at Your Library” program were treated to a free movie and snacks at the Wellington Regent Theatre.
