The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office hosts “Coffee and Conversation”every other Wednesday morning at 9am. Local residents can meet and chat with a sheriff ’s deputy, detective, or other members of the command staff in a relaxed setting.
Originally known as the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team or S.E.R.T, the team adopted the name Southern Kansas SWAT in 2009. Tactically trained and specially equipped, the team is a highly skilled law enforcement unit established to reduce the risk of injury or loss of life to citizens, police officers, and suspects.
Valentina came to us with her tiny adorable kittens! She was a wonderful mother and most of her kittens have now been adopted. She is barely an adult herself at just over a year old. The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB held its 20th annual Chamber Golf Classic at the Wellington Golf Club last Friday. “It was a hot one this year,” said Valerie Earl, Executive Director of the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Currency Corner in downtown Wellington specializes in offering vintage currency and unique coins. They currently have some very interesting bills that have a special Wellington connection.
One thing about working at the museum, you never know what history rabbit hole you’re going to go down. Recently, we had a visitor from Oklahoma City who asked if we had any information on the Wellington Maroons baseball club.
