JUSTICE FOR JANET, PT 2.

Eight years after Janet Wikel’s mysterious disappearance, Max Schmidt, a Caldwell resident known for his frequent outings to the Chikaskia River, was hand-fishing. When he spotted something buried in the sand he initially thought he had found a large clam shell. His discovery turned out to be something far more chilling, a human skull.

Memorial Day:

As part of a longstanding tradition in the Wellington community, hundreds gathered Saturday morning to install the Avenue of Flags at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. More than 1,200 flags, accompanied by honor plates, were solemnly placed on the graves to pay tribute to those who have fallen in military service.
