Fred Rogers entered the hearts of many Americans as “Mister Rogers”, the host and creator of the children’s show “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood”. The show debuted on PBS in 1968 and aired through 2001, the reruns still have a huge following.

Gazing At The Stars

Those interested in viewing the heavens through a telescope had a unique opportunity to experiment with the Wellington Public Library’s new telescope in Worden Park. Kansas Astronomical Observers member Jerelyn (McComb) Ramirez was instrumental in acquiring the telescope which Library patrons will now be able to “check out” just like they would a book.

Barnes Receives KMHC Award

Kansas Mental Health Advocacy Day was held at the Kansas Capitol Building on March 13th, 2024. As part of that event, Kansas Mental Health Coalition (KMHC) President Mary Jones presented the organization’s “C.E. Harkness KMHC Member of the Year” award to local Sumner County advocate Lori Barnes.
