For just the third time in WHS school history a Lady Crusader has brought home the Championship from the Kansas State High School Activities Association 4-1A State Wrestling Championships. Senior Aubrey Hunt, who finished last year as the State runner-up, started the tournament by defeating Caydence Carter of Plainville.
The Sumner County Economic Development Associate Advisory Committee convened their monthly meeting on January 22nd. As part of the agenda, plans for an “Empty Building Tour” to be conducted in historic downtown Wellington were discussed. Building owners will be on hand to meet and answer questions from potential tenants.
Recent WHS graduate Lane Herrington has translated his high school internship experience into a promising career in elementary education. As a participant in an internship program overseen by Rane Case, Wellington High School CTE Coordinator, Herrington leveraged his hands-on experience to secure a position as a Para with USD 353.
