The Sumner County land Julia and Troy Strnad call home has been in the family for generations. In 2019, the Kansas Farm Bureau recognized them as a “Century Farm,” originally established by Julia’s ancestors, Peter and Augusta Lungren, in 1918.

CEMETERY CLEAN-UP NEXT TUESDAY

Weather permitting, the Wellington Cemetery Staff will conduct their annual clean-up of Prairie Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday, February 20th. As part of this maintenance, winter decorations and items that violate Cemetery Code will be removed and properly disposed of. Individuals who wish to retrieve their items are encouraged to do so before this date.

Lady Crusaders Notch Two More

Last Tuesday, the Wellington girls basketball team dominated a Circle team that came into the game with an impressive 10-3 record, holding Circle to only five points in the entire second half. “Our defense was very active and caused Circle confusion,” said WHS head coach Eric Adams.
