The Fiscal Year 2025 budget for Kansas has been unveiled, showcasing a balanced approach that prioritizes tax cuts, education and crucial investments. Governor Laura Kelly addressed the joint session of the Kansas Legislature, “Too often, it seems as though people – especially here in the statehouse – believe our rural communities are doomed to shrink…that our hospitals are doomed to close… that our schools are doomed to decline.

Newman University 2023 Fall Dean’s List

Newman University recently announced its 2023 Fall Dean’s List, recognizing five exceptional students from Wellington: Conita Burden, Lena Clouston, Zoe Dawdy, Cheyanne Mayo, and Alyssa Wilson. The Dean’s List accolade is granted to undergraduate students who have successfully completed a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained an impressive grade point average of 3.5 or above.
