Since 1901, the tradition of children communicating with Santa through the pages of the Wellington Daily News has been a cherished part of our community. In keeping with this festive ritual, we’re delighted to continue supporting this heartwarming tradition.
The WHS auditorium stage came alive with bright colors, whimsical costumes, and unforgettable melodies, setting the perfect holiday mood for everyone in attendance. The opening act featured the 6th Grade Choir enchanting the audience with “Do You Hear What I Hear,” followed by a lively rendition of “Sleigh Ride” by the talented Breegan Bevan.
Dear Santa, The wonderful staff and volunteers who help take care of us will tell you that we all have been exceptionally good this year! We are excited for Christmas and hope you’ll remember us! Of course, we would all love a home for Christmas, but if you can’t make that happen there are a few items we could really use at the shelter: A new washer and dryer Cash donations for our Science Diet Food Bill (We like to eat a lot!) Last Saturday, local youth enjoyed a special holiday gathering with heroes from the Caldwell and Wellington Police Departments, Wellington Fire/EMS, Sumner County Sheriff ’s Office, and members of Sumner County 911.
The Landfill & Recycling Center will be closed on Monday, December 25th and Monday, January 1st. Waste collection for both Mondays will be completed the next day, Tuesday, for both holidays.
